Embark on a Wildlife Adventure at Lake Nakuru National Park – Spot Rhinos, Lions, and Flamingos in a Scenic Rift Valley Setting!

Lake Nakuru National Park, covering 177 square kilometers, lies about 160 kilometers northwest of Nairobi on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. This fenced park is renowned for its soda lake, also called Lake Nakuru, and is situated just five minutes from Nakuru town, making it a popular day trip destination for locals from Nakuru and Nairobi.

The park boasts over 50 animal species and more than 400 bird species, with a rich history as a bird sanctuary since its establishment in 1966 to protect flamingos and other endemic birdlife. Additionally, it serves as a sanctuary for both white and black rhinos, which are easily spotted along game drive tracks. The fully fenced nature of the park ensures a concentrated and accessible wildlife viewing experience.

During a full-day game drive, visitors can encounter a variety of animals, including rhinos, lions, leopards, hippos, gazelles, hyenas, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, cheetahs, baboons, elands, impalas, waterbucks, and many more. The park’s relatively small size and easy navigation make it ideal for wildlife enthusiasts.
